Magic Card by @ixenbay is the Seam Summer 2024 Miniapp Challenge’s Highest Quality Award Winner! Users can create fully custom magic cards featuring anything they want to! This Miniapp has been a great tool for fans of the game and those who like to create silly content alike. Rather that needing to use photoshop or a standalone image editor, Magic enthusiasts can use the in-app Magic Card Maker to build accurate cards, just like those found on Reddit's custom magic card subreddit. Features a form to input your card's properties, a cropping tool to zoom and crop your uploaded image in the illustration box, and the ability to craft your own rules with mana and other common symbols.

How to use Magic Card:

1. Add a photo

2. Write your abilities, the editor allows for all costs of activated abilities as well as tapped abilities!

3. Preview your creation and stitch into a final image.

4. Post!

What we love: Magic Card can be used to create custom cards featuring original characters, real life people and places, or just about anything! You can also use it to make very silly memes.

Quick tip: Try making a card for your favorite character, historical figure, or a friend!

Technical Implementation:

All Seam miniapps are open source, and all the code for the Magic Card miniapp can be found in this Pull Request. Magic Card is an excellent example of composing via a canvas, and uploading it as a image. In the ComposerComponent, the Magic card is simply an image, leading to faster render times than re-creating the canvas.
